In the men’s qualifying draw at the ATP Challenger Jersey International, James McGee saw some early success before being knocked out in the third round. He defeated Sean Thornley of Great Britain in the first round on a scoreline of 6-2 7-6(5), moving on to another victory over seventh seeded Chris Eaton, also of Great Britain, in the second round 6-2 6-2. Unfortunately, McGee was defeated in the third round of the qualifiers by Laurynas Gringelis of Lithuania on a scoreline of 6-3 6-3.
Conor Niland is set to play Niels Desein of Belgium in the first round of the men’s singles tournament at Jersey today, March 23. Niland is also competing in the men’s doubles tournament, teaming up with Uladzimir Ignatik of Belarus against the Belgium pair of Neils Desein and Yamick Mertens this afternoon.
