Barry King and David McKenna competed in the qualifiying singles of the Jersey International at Channel Islands in Great Britain, part of the ATP Challengers Tour. King, currently ranked 601, was set against Oliver Goldberg (GBR) in the first round, losing 5-2 before retiring. Earlier this year, King reached the quarterfinals at the Spain F3 Futures.
McKenna faired better, defeating Scott Clayton (GBR) 6-4 6-4 in the first round, before falling to eighth seeded Roman Valent (SUI) 6-4 6-4 in the second round.
Conor Niland, currently ranked 241, will face off this week against sixth seeded Niels Desein (BEL) in the first round of the tournament. Niland reached the semifinals at the Kazan Challenger in Russia earlier this year and won the USA F28 Futures in November 2009. James McGee, ranked 499, is also set to play against Laurynas Grigelis (LTU) on Monday 22 March.
