Luxemburg Indoor Junior Open: Sam Barry
Sam Barry travelled to Luxemburg this week for the Luxemburg Indoor Junior Open 2010.
Eighteen year old Barry from Limerick faced Gregoire Barrere (FRA) in the first round of the boys singles but was unfortunate to suffer a 3-6 7-6(5) 6-3 defeat.
In the doubles event, Barry and partner Slim Hamza (TUN) have been seeded no. 1. They defeated British duo Daniel Cochrane/James Hignett in the first round yesterday afternoon on a scoreline 6-7(1) 6-4 [10-3]. They will face Italians Dall’asta / Micolani in the second round today.
Sam Barry who is currently ranked 84 reached the quarter finals of the boys singles at the Monastir ITF tournament in Tunisia in February and the second round of the boys singles at the Australian Open in January.
