James McGee, James Cluskey and Lazare Kukhalashvili travelled to Sheffield this week for the Great Britain F2 Futures 2010
James McGee advanced to the second round of the mens singles at the Great Britain F2 Futures 2010 but was defeated yesterday morning by no. 4 seed Josh Goodall (GBR) 7-6(6) 3-6 6-3. McGee defeated Michael Ryderstedt (SWE) on a scoreline 6-3 6-4 in the first round. He is currently ranked 508 and reached the semi final of the mens singles at the Malaysia F6 Futures in December.
James Cluskey received a bye in the first round of the mens singles qualifiers and was defeated 7-6(5) 7-5 by no. 3 seed Baptiste Dupuy in the second round. Cluskey is currently ranked 1231 and reached the semi finals of the mens singles and doubles at the Babalot National Indoors in December.
Georgian, Lazare Kukhalashvili who trains at the National Tennis Centre in Dublin also competed in the mens singles qualifiers and received a bye in the first round. He was defeated in the second round by Jamie Delgado of Great Britain on a scoreline 6-4 7-6(2). Kukhalashvili has a ranking of 1096 and reached the final of the mens singles at the Babalot National Indoors in December.
Singles Qualifiers Results
Lazare Kukhalashvili and Swedish partner Stefan Borg were defeated by no. 1 seed Olivier Charroin (FRA) / Andis Juska (LAT) 6-2 6-2 in the mens doubles quarter finals on court 2 yesterday afternoon.
James McGee and Bart Van Monsjou (NED) will now face the no. 1 seed duo Charroin (FRA) / Juska (LAT) in the semi final of the mens doubles. They defeated Dessein (BEL) / Middelkoop (NED) on a scoreline 6-4 6-7(5) [10-7] and had a 5-7 6-4 [10-6] win over 4 seed Richard Bloomfield and Jamie Delgado of Great Britain in the first round.
James Cluskey and Michael Venus (USA) also competed in this event but were defeated in the first round 6-4 7-6(4) by British no. 2 seed duo Chris Eaton / Dominic Inglot.
