Australian Open Qualifying Singles Draw Announced: Niland and Sorensen
The mens singles qualifying draw for the Australian Open 2010 has been announced. Louk Sorensen will play Benjamin Balleret (MON) in the first round and Conor Niland faces Henri Kontinen (FIN). Both players will compete in the first round tomorrow from 10am (Australian Time) on Court 14.
Sorsensen defeated Balleret last week 6-0 2-6 6-2 in the qualifying stage of the men’s singles at the Chennai Open in India. Sorensen went on to achieve a place in the main draw at this tournament but was defeated 6-2 6-1 by Stephane Robert (FRA) in the first round.
Niland had a 6-3 6-1 win over Kontinen in the first round of the mens singles main draw at the Turkey F8 Futures in September. He reached the final round of the mens singles qualifiers in Doha but was but lost to Steve Darcis (BEL) on a scoreline 1-6 6-1 7-6(4).

John Morrissey and Sam Barry will be taking part in the Australian Open Boys Singles. Draws will be available on the week of January 25th 2010.
