Sam Barry Results from Mexico

Sam Barry travelled to Merida, Mexico last week to take part in the Grade 1 Yucatan World Cup 2009.
 
Barry and partner Ben MacLachlan (NZL) were defeated by Pavel Krainik (CAN) and Kevin Krawietz (GER) in the doubles semi finals on a scoreline 5-7 6-2 [10-8]. They defeated Zachary White (CAN) / Michael Zhu (USA) 6-3 7-5 in the quarterfinals, Maciej Smola (POL)/ Dominic Thiem (AUT) 6-3 6-4 in the second round and Munoz Quiroga (MEX) / Razborsek (SLO) 6-2 6-0 in the first round.
 
Boys Doubles

Sam Barry was also competing in the boys singles but was defeated in the third round by no. 6 seed Romain Arneodo (FRA) on a scoreline 3-6 6-3 6-4. He had a 7-6(3) 6-3 win over Filip Peliwo (CAN) in the second round and a 6-2 6-2 win over Julio Cesar Vasquez Bonilla (MEX) in the first round.
 
Boys Singles
 
Sam Barry is currently ranked 120 and was winner of the boys singles at the 10th Torneig ITF Andorra La Vella in October. He also won the doubles event at this tournament with partner Ciaran Fitzgerald.
