Sam Barry has travelled to Merida, Mexico this week to take part in the Grade 1 Yucatan World Cup 2009.
 
He has achieved a place in the doubles semi final with partner Ben MacLachlan (NZL). They defeated Zachary White (CAN) / Michael Zhu (USA) 6-3 7-5 in the quarterfinals, Maciej Smola (POL)/ Dominic Thiem (AUT) 6-3 6-4 in the second round and Munoz Quiroga (MEX) / Razborsek (SLO) 6-2 6-0 in the first round.
 
Boys Doubles

 
Sam Barry was also competing in the boys singles but was defeated in the third round by no. 6 seed Romain Arneodo (FRA) on a scoreline 3-6 6-3 6-4. He had a 7-6(3) 6-3 win over Filip Peliwo (CAN) in the second round and a 6-2 6-2 win over Julio Cesar Vasquez Bonilla (MEX) in the first round.
 
Boys Singles
 
Sam Barry is currently ranked 120 and was winner of the boys singles at the 10th Torneig ITF Andorra La Vella in October. He also won the doubles at this tournament with partner Ciaran Fitzgerald.
