David McKenna Wins Boys Singles in Singapore

David McKenna has won the boys singles at the Singapore ITF Junior Championships 2009 after coming through from the qualifiers. He defeated Australian, Nathan Lemke on a scoreline 6-3 6-3 in the finals.
He defeated no. 1 seed Chieh-Fu Wang (TPE) in the quarterfinal on a scoreline 6-2 6-2 and had a 6-2 6-1 win over Thien Nguyen Hoang (VIE) in the semi finals.

McKenna also reached the quarterfinals of the boys doubles with Dudley Smith (RSA). They defeated Trongcharoenchailul (THA) / Yumuang (THA) in the first round on a scoreline 2-6 7-6(9) 11-9 but were defeated 6-1 6-3 by Christian Oliver Lee (MAS) / Chieh-Fu Wang (TPE) in the quarter finals.

This week David McKenna competes at the PHINMA International Juniors in The Philippines. He has achieved a place in the man draw of the boys singles after defeating Ellison miles Bingcang (PHI) 6-0 6-0 in the final round of the qualifiers. He will now play no. 6 seed Kaichi Uchida (JPN) in the first round of the main draw.
