Sorensen quarter finalist in mens singles in Germany

 

Louk Sorensen took part in the Lambertz Open by Stawag in Germany last week. He was given a place in the main draw after being selected as a lucky loser from the qualifiers. He defeated Antonio Veic (CRO) 6-2 6-2 in the first round of the main draw on a scoreline and had a 6-3 6-4 win over Nils Langer (GER) in the second round. Sorensen lost to the eventual winner Rajeev Ram (USA) in the quarter finals 7-5 7-5.

 

Singles Results

Keio Challenger, Japan

This week, Sorensen is competing in the $50,000 Keio Challenger, Japan. He was playing the doubles event this weekend partnering Simon Stadler (GER) but they were defeated 2-6 6-3 11-9 by Alexey Kedryuk (KAZ) / Junn Mitsuhashi (JPN).

 

Sorensen (ranked 336) will play Andis Juska (LAT) in the first round of the mens singles this morning. He previously defeated the Latvian in 2007 on a scoreline 6-4 6-2.

 

This tournament will continue throughout the week with the finals taking place on Sunday 22nd November 2009.
