Great Britain F16 Futures: McGee & King in Doubles Finals
Three Irish players were competing this week in the $15,000 Great Britain F16 Futures at Cardiff Health & Rackets Club in Wales.
Men’s Doubles
James McGee and Barry King had a 6-1 0-6 [10-6] win over Daniel Evans (GBR) and Joshua Milton (GBR) in the semi finals of the mens doubles. They will now play Tim Bradshaw (GBR) and Alexendre Slabinsky (GBR) in the finals.
McGee and King reached the quarter finals of the Great Britain F15 Futures in Glasgow and the semifinals of the F30 Futures in Italy in September. Their opponents reached the semifinals of the mens doubles last week in Glasgow
Doubles Results
Men’s Singles
James McGee lost 3-6 0-6 to Marcus Willis (GBR) in the men’s singles quarterfinals yesterday morning. McGee is currently ranked 543 and came through the qualifiers stage before achieving his place in the main draw.
Barry King and Conor Niland both reached the second round of the main draw of the mens singles. King was defeated 7-5 6-3 by Daniel Evans (GBR) and Niland had to retire due to injury.
