Louk Sorensen results in RBS Challenger, California
Louk Sorensen lost to Michael Russell (USA) yesterday 7-5 1-6 7-5 in the first round of the main draw of the $50,000 Royal Bank of Scotland Challenger which is taking place in California, USA. Michael Russell (no. 1 seed) will now play Simon Stadler (GER) in the second round of this event.
Sorensen successfully came through the qualifying rounds defeating Australian James Lemke (6-4 6-0), American Tim Smyczek (6-4 6-1) and Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis (6-0 6-2) in order to gain his place in the main draw of the tournament.
Twenty four year old Sorensen is currently ranked 352 and last week played the Natomas Men’s Professional Tennis Tournament in Sacramento where he progressed from the qualifying stages through to the final sixteen of the tournament.
The Royal Bank of Scotland Challenger event in Tiburon, California will continue throughout this week with the finals taking place on Sunday 18th October.
