Paros Cup: O’ Brien Wins Doubles Finals
Colin O’Brien has won the men’s doubles event at the Paros Cup in Greece this weekend. O’Brien and partner Mathieu Guenat (SUI) had their victory over Greek duo Gemouchidis and Glezos with a score 6-7(1) 6-3 [10-3].
In order to reach their place in the final, O’Brien and Guenat had defeated Angelinos (GRE) and Jakupovic (GRE) in the second round and Glancy (IRL) and Arlidge (GBR) in the semi finals.
The other Irish player at this tournament was Daniel Glancy who reached the semi finals of both the singles and doubles events. In the singles semi final he lost to Petar Jelenic in the 6-0 7-6(2). Jelenic went on to play Marius Copil in the final.

O’Brien and Glancy stay in Greece this week to compete in the Thalassa Cup 2009. Both players are in the main draw of the singles and doubles events with O’Brien receiving a bye through to the quarterfinals of the doubles.
