Irish tennis fans get chance to win historic Wimbledon net signed by Henman and Cash

Tennis enthusiasts from all over Ireland have been presented with a unique opportunity to enter a draw to win the net that was used during the first game played under the new roof at Wimbledon and make a real difference to the poorest of the poor in the Developing World.

This prized piece of tennis memorabilia was used for a pre-tournament Centre Court exhibition match involving a number of former Wimbledon stars, including Tim Henman, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf.

The net is available courtesy of GOAL and is personally signed by Henman and former Wimbledon champion and President of GOAL UK, Pat Cash.

“This is a wonderful chance for anyone to acquire a piece of Wimbledon history and help GOAL to continue their life-saving work overseas,” said Cash. “GOAL is currently managing and implementing aid programmes in 10 countries and need the help of the people of Ireland and the global community now more than ever.”

Clubs interested in winning the net can enter the draw by sending a cheque for €100 to GOAL. The draw will take place on Friday, August 28th, 2009.
