Letty Lucas appointed as Tennis Ireland President

Congratulations to Letty Lucas who was recently installed as the new President of Tennis Ireland at the Annual General Meeting at the Crowne Plaza, Santry on Saturday last (April 25th).

 

Letty is a member of Downshire Tennis Club, Hillsborough and has been associated with tennis from the tender age of 10, when she joined her local club, Hilden. She has played tennis in Division 1 for approximately 40 years and during that time represented Club, County, Province and Country at various ages.

 

Letty is heavily involved in the Downshire Tennis Club Committee where she is the secretary of the club and she has also had a long association with Lisburn Raquets Club first serving on the committee as a teenager, and currently is a trustee of the club. Over a period of years Letty has been involved in working closely with the Governing Body of the sport, with sponsors and Government Agencies always striving to improve the development of tennis.

 

She has sat on the Management Committee of the Ulster Council from 1999 and was Ulster President from 2004-2006. Letty has been involved with Tennis Ireland from 2003 and joined the newly formed Board in 2007.

 

Letty takes over from outgoing Tennis Ireland President, Lyn Jamison, and will stay in this position for a term of two years. Tennis Ireland wish to extend our best wishes to Letty during her term of office.
