Veterans Interprovincial Championships 2008

Leinster proved victorious at the recent Veterans Interprovincial Championships held at Rushbrooke LTCC in Cobh, Co. Cork. The overall competition evolved into a three-way tussle for the top spot between Ulster, Munster and Leinster, with all ties between these Provinces being very tight affairs.

The opening tie of the weekend saw Ulster and Munster square up in a tie that was eventually shared with 8 match wins a piece. The evenness of this tie proving to be a constant throughout the weekend. While Leinster enjoyed a comfortable victory over Connacht (14-2) on day one, they were made to work much harder in their second tie with Ulster pushing them all the way before eventually coming out on top by nine matches to seven. The Easterners went onto record a vitory over their Munster host by the same scoreline which was enough to secure them the title of Veterans Interprovincial Champions for 2008.
