Club Development

Tennis Ireland is very aware that our affiliated clubs play a central role in Irish tennis.
We have identified a number of initiatives that we feel it is vital for Clubs to implement in order to maintain and develop this central role within the game.

These strategies are based around the changing needs of Irish tennis players, taking into account the dramatic developments Ireland has undergone over the past 5 to10 years.

Changes in our society will continue and accelerate in the future, and in order to continue to thrive all the stakeholders in Irish tennis must plan for and implement strategies that take these new factors into account.

In Tennis Irelands view there are three lynchpin programmes which all clubs should consider implementing:

  • Appointment of Directors of Tennis
  • The ITF 'Play and Stay' Programme
  • The Construction of Indoor Courts
Active clubs are the key to the success and the growth of any sport.

A successful Tennis Club is a club that aims to satisfy the needs of all its members including, seniors, students & juniors. Tennis Ireland have drawn up the following documents to aid clubs with policies and initiatives to help clubs grow and prosper in the future.
